Air conditioning was installed in three areas of
this school to serve as a supplementary system as
well as a back up to the main unit currently servicing
the building. Zone dampers were installed to enhance
the performance of the 6 ton system especially since
one of the zones is being used to maintain the temperature
of a 24 hour server room. To prevent voiding the
roofing warranty, condensing units was installed
on a custom made platform that never needed to be
secured to the roof but only to the CMU wall.

This job required the use of a large mobile crane
to practically reach this building from a parking
area near Beretania Street. To prevent the pipe
insulation from premature deterioration, pipe insulation
shown above is protected by an aluminum service
jacket wrap. Unit chosen for this project had to
be very quiet since the a new apartment building
was erected directly behind this building. Maximizing
the units efficiency was also a major concern. Once
completed unit was quiet and also building owner
now averages about a $400 a month savings on his
utility bill.

Furnish and install a 10 ton water source heat pump
per plan and specs. Mechanical work included doing
all mechanical pipe work and ties ins from the building
cooling tower stub outs to circulating pump motor
and water source heat pump air conditioning equipment.
All control work was done by AMV Air Conditioning
Inc. that included furnishing and installing (3)
motor starters, HOA control panel, Simplex duct
smoke detectors and a digital electronic thermostat.
Duct work installed for this project was sheet metal
with 1 inch thick insulation liner.
